We’re talking Dave Mason, singer, songwriter and guitarist. The co-founder of Traffic back in the day, in 1966. The guy wrote “Feelin’ Alright,” famously covered by Joe Cocker, and monster hits like “We Just Disagree” and “Only You Know and I Know.” Who went on to a successful solo career, touring with Hendrix, the Stones, George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie, Graham Nash, Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh and Fleetwood Mac. Live, Jan. 18 at Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury, which is where he will unveil “Dave Mason’s Traffic Jam,” which will feature hits and deep album cuts from 1967’s “Mr. Fantasy” and 1968’s “Traffic” albums and additional Traffic jams plus new material and classic Mason music.
He will be releasing a new EP called “Future’s Past,” featuring new versions of his classic songs plus new material that he has written and performed on tour over the last few years, a little later in the year. The EP will be available at davemasonmusic.com and at live shows.
“I think that it is important to keep alive the legacy of four young men from the heartland of England and their contribution to contemporary music,” says Mason, “and ‘Traffic Jam,’ aside from the obvious material, will hopefully grow into the basis for other artists to participate. Keep the spirit alive!”
Tickets are $30-45. The club is located at 4 Oceanfront North, Salisbury. Check out blueoceanhall.com for more info.
